A very sound choice. I think Senses of Cinema will be an interesting pursuit for you this semester. Grounded in another hemisphere - Australia, I believe - it frequently discusses filmmakers, festivals, books not usually covered in US publications. Also the site is not limited to one type of filmmaking - it discusses narrative, experimental, contemporary, and historical.
Look at the guidelines for the next blog assignment now on the D2L site. Postings due by 29 October.
In selecting articles from Senses of Cinema to read I would look at the Festival reports for at least one of them. They should provide a good window on one aspect of contemporary practice - and on currently posted is written by a former UWM student!
